stylin’ :: saint paul children’s photographer

This has to be the hippest little one year old I have met. Not only did she have orange boots, stripey tights and a gorgeous knit dress, she had a traditional Korean Hambok, which is worn to celebrate the first birthday. How cool is that! And then she comes out in her holiday dress, all wrapped in fluffy white goodness. Yummer! Of course she was a’walkin and a’talking the whole time…

We took these photos right in their front yard – they live in some fabulous condos right on the river in St. Paul. This was probably one of the last warm days of fall – fantastic sun. OK, I know mom is chomping at the bit to see her photos, so here you go!

What did you do for a lighting setup?

gwendolyn - I just use 100% natural light. Kids are too fast to chase around with an elaborate setup, and I love the look of natural light. I really try to pay attention to how the light is hitting the subject’s face so that I get the best light.
