Yes, squirrel-monks. Monks, as in monkeys, not trappists. They were living in my camera. And on my head. And in my pants. Have you ever tried photographing a 2 1/2 year old with a squirrel-monk on your head? Now just to clarify, squirrel-monks are 100% imaginary. No stuffed animals balanced on my head. No sir. These parents have a had a tough time getting smiles on film, so I knew I was up for a fun challenge. We had a BLAST!!! Ok, I looked a little ridiculous, but little [R] got so into the squirrel-monks that he was finding them all over me. What a sweetie.

Newborns are my absolute favorites to photograph, and this little guy was just a dream. We photographed him at his home in Minneapolis, and he slept beautifully and was open to all kinds of my crazy ideas. Since he was born a week before Thanksgiving, we just had to dish him up on a platter! SO delicious… I just LOVE that fuzzy newborn back…

You might remember the belly session I shot of his mama, along with his big sister. Such a beautiful family! Congratulations [O] family!
