spunk :: st. paul children’s photographer

I got an email from this mom saying that her daughter came to her with her school photos, and asked that they not be shown to anybody because they were ugly. This makes me sad, so I can only imagine how heartbroken her mom felt when her beautiful daughter thought she was otherwise because of a bad school photo.

This young woman is filled with so much spunk, unique style, confidence, and beauty. That’s right, T – you are absolutely beautiful. And I hope these photos will help you to feel more so. Thank you for sharing such a gorgeous fall afternoon with me.

go ahead, just try :: st. paul children’s photographer

I dare you. I dare you to look at these photos of these beautiful, happy kids and not smile.
Betcha can’t do it. Their smiles and spunky attitudes are truly infectious.

And the girls’ hair? LOVE it.
I photographed this family a couple years ago (in my pre-blogging days!), and Mom wished she would have had the girls’ hair down. Well I’m so glad we got a chance to do it again this year, this time with hair! Absolutely gorgeous. Totally jealous.

You’re smiling, aren’t you…
Good. Me too.

:)

girl power :: twin cities children’s photographer

To say that this family is active is a great understatement. So what did we do for our session? Got out the football, played some catch, jumped on the trampoline, and ran like crazy! Of course there was time for a much-needed cookie break and lots of exploring. The light was amazing this weekend, and we were on the lake at just the perfect time.

This family had so much fun with their session, as it should be! This is the second year I photographed this bright, spunky, active little girl – check out last year’s family session here. It’s just so evident to me how much they truly enjoy each others’ company and love being together.

Thanks so much [G] family – I had a fabulous afternoon with you guys!

just one :: twin cities children’s photographer

I just had to share one photo from my last session. The light was absolutely gorgeous, the afternoon was warm, and this little girl was so much fun!

I fell in love with this image…

More to come from this session tomorrow!

happy birthday, my little one.

My baby is two.

Two. How did that happen? I know, every parent asks themselves that very same question. Time seems to move at hyper-speed once you have little ones in your life. All those days filled with wiping faces, wiping noses, changing diapers, picking up messes, sweeping up thrown food, and then BAM. You turn around and your kids are turning into actual people. With their own opinions and ideas about how things should work.

My little man just turned two on Halloween. I took him out for some photos today in the gorgeous sunlight. Not something we’ve had a ton of this fall. So here is the littlest love of my life. Sweet boy.

So what do you think? Cut the hair? Let his curls grow? I just can’t bear to let them go, but then they’re all over his face, in his food, blocking his vision, and then there’s the issue of everybody calling him a girl. Does he really look girly? Seriously?

My little man. Into all things vehicular. Cement trucks being at the top of the list, and garbage trucks. Loves to sing – he’ll often wake up singing “the wheels on the bus” song in his crib. Knows all his ABCs. The whole song, most of the letters by sight. Appropriately uses the word “actually” in complete sentences. Remembers the names of all of the kids I take photos of from seeing me edit their photos on my “compinder” [that would be computer, for the non-toddler literate]. Is heavily addicted to his “blankie and nukie”. Loves the color orange, just like his mama. Wants to be just like his big brother and sister.

Happy birthday, little one. You are my sunshine.
