I've known this family for years now - our sons met at school and became fast friends. I photographed their family back in 2009, and we had a blast at their session. Now their oldest son Alex is a senior in high school, and they wanted to get some fun updated family photos, as well as some senior portraits for Alex. They knew that they wanted to come to the area behind the new Guthrie, since it was a special place for their family. Dawn and Shawn got engaged behind the Guthrie right after a show (although it was still at the old location), and have had season passes ever since then. We had a super fun session down around the Ruins and the Stone Arch Bridge - the boys were awesome, and we all had a great time.
Take a closer look at this photo... Dawn has a tattoo of her and baby Alex on her shoulder. Now Alex is a grown young man, and as he holds his mom close, it comes full circle. So beautiful...
Happy Thursday! I wanted to share a recent high school senior portrait session I had with this truly radiant young woman. We had a wonderful time in an urban park, which offered everything from fields of goldenrods, to tall grasses, to a nearby alley with some beautiful brickwork.
I photographed her sister three years ago (already!), and I was so honored that they asked me back again this year. Thank you so much!
I had an absolutely splendid time with this family near their home in Southwest Minneapolis. I don't do many family sessions with older children, but this family wanted to get some portraits taken together before their oldest moved away. It was such a blast! Mom said that her two kids were best of friends, and I could tell immediately that their connection is deep. They spent the entire session laughing, playing around, teasing each other... While I was off photographing their parents, they sat down in the green grass and made clover chains. Such a beautiful family... thank you so much for allowing me the pleasure of spending a lovely evening with you all.
A few favorites from a recent senior session in Sydney's backyard. She has the most infectious, beautiful smile, don't you think? Gorgeous.
