We scheduled their session early in the morning, mostly because it was the time of day that worked for the kids, before they got too hungry and tired for a photo session. But we also got out before it got too unbearably hot. This summer has been unseasonably warm in Minneapolis, with temps in the 90s and heat indexes up over a hundred. So we were all happy to get out into the park before it heated up too much.
These two little ones were so sweet together, always wanting to see what the other was getting into, tickling each other and telling secrets. And never wanted to be more than a few feet apart. I loved that they both brought their blankies to the session. I think this is such a precious thing to capture, those special things that make each child feel secure and loved and safe.
It was so wonderful to spend time with this family together – both parents work very long hours and family time is scarce. I feel so honored to be able to help families remember those mornings they spend at a park together… the love they share, and the happiness they create together. Being tossed high in the air by dad, watching goldfish crackers float down the creek, feeling the water tickle your toes, and exploring craggy holes in tree trunks. This is the stuff that summer memories are made of.
